Hong Kong

Planes, trains, subways, buses, double decker buses, ferries, cable cars-we used every form of transportation available while in Hong Kong this past week. (23rd-29th) Our main reason for going was because our visas expired and we had to leave the country and Hong Kong is considered out of China. So, we went there to apply for new visas which take 5 days to get. The bad news is, that they would only give us visas for 30 more days, so we are not real sure what will happen in 30 days. Our prayer is that they will allow us to renew them from Beijing the end of October for 30 more days, and then when we go back to the US in December, we can just apply for new visas from there-it is easier to get longer visas from your home country. I guess if they don't allow us to renew from Beijing, we will have to make another trip to Hong Kong in 30 days.
Anyway, since we had to go to Hong Kong we decided to make a much needed vacation out of it. We had a nice time, even though the first couple days were pretty rainy. After that it cleared up and was very hot. So, we did a lot of swimming, which was a great. Alyson and Austin have really become quite the little swimmers. There is also a Disney land in Hong Kong so we went to that one day as well. Please continue to pray that we get our visas worked out.

Below are some pictures from our Hong Kong trip.

The Great Wall of China

We were finally able to go visit The Great Wall. The kids have been asking since the first week we arrived in China. We had a great time! We took a cable car to the top and then hiked the wall for awhile and then took a big slide back down to the bottom. (this was the kids favorite part)

Please pray as we are still working out the details to get surgeries for 3 children at PHF with brachial plexus palsy (paralyzed arm). The children's names are Cole, Sadie, and Cadence. We just had a doctor from the US volunteer to come over in February to perform their surgeries as there are no doctors in China who are able to do it. Praise the Lord for Dr. Nath's (from Texas) willingness to do this. Please continue to pray that all the details will be worked out including finding a hospital in Beijing that is inexpensive enough to use.

.
Please continue to pray for two children at PHF named Adrian and Maggie who arrived a few weeks ago with severe heart conditions. Please pray that the finances can be raised quickly to help get these children the heart surgeries they need to live a long and healthy life.

Thank you for your prayers and support,
John, Desiray,
Alyson and Austin Christen
